Leaside Community Centre -
The new development which has now received Planning Permission comprises two main areas of work.
Refurbishment of the Hall
For many years the maintenance of the Hall particularly the heating costs has been a major drain on church finances.
The proposed refurbishment will bring the whole building up to present day standards. It involves insulating all external walls, roofs, and floors, the installation of a new heating system and the upgrade of the electrical installation in order to reduce future maintenance costs to a minimum. The internal layout will be reconfigured ensuring greater security for Leaside Kindergarten and providing extra public meeting rooms for groups of less than 10 to over 100.
The New Reception Area
Will provide a glazed covered link between the Church and Hall creating for the first time a single building to be known as Leaside Community Centre.
This will be the main entrance foyer which will lead to both Church and to Hall providing wheelchair access to all areas. There will be new toilets included.
The work to the Church begun in 2010, will be completed with a new tea and coffee point for refreshments, and reinforcement of the gallery providing an additional 50 seats, a total of 150 for concerts and other meetings.
All are Welcome
